COIMBATORE: The state government might have decided to stick to 69% reservation policy in employment and education but the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Teacher Recruitment Board in violation of the reservation policy has raised many eyebrows.

Even though National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) said concessions may be given by appropriate state governments to SC/ST, OBC and differently-abled candidates in deciding the pass marks, the state has not yet followed the reservation policy in TET and 60% remains the minimum pass percentage for all candidates.

बेसिक शिक्षा परिषद के प्राथमिक स्कूलों में मोआल्लिम-ए-उर्दू और अलीगढ़ विश्वविद्यालय से डिप्लोमा इन टीचिंग करने वालों को उर्दू भाषा शिक्षक के पद पर रखने का रास्ता साफ हो गया है।
इन्हें शिक्षक पात्रता परीक्षा (टीईटी) की तर्ज पर अलग से परीक्षा देनी होगी। इसमें उन्हें निबंध लेखन के अलावा व्याकरण से संबंधित प्रश्न, काम्प्रीहेन्सन तथा बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए जरूरी टीचिंग मेथड्स की परीक्षा देनी होगी।
परीक्षार्थियों को 60 फीसदी अंक प्राप्त करना अनिवार्य होगा। इसे लिए अगस्त 1997 से पूर्व वाले ही पात्र होंगे। यह निर्णय मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव की अध्यक्षता में सोमवार को हुई कैबिनेट की बैठक में लिया गया। इसका लाभ 4280 लोगों को मिलेगा।
